World of Warcraft Game Client Optimization

The Launcher is optimizing your World of Warcraft install. This is a process we run from time to time to improve game performance and reduce the size of the install on your hard drive.
The entire process will take approximately 15 - 60 minutes under normal conditions. Please do not close the Launcher or run World of Warcraft during this time.
Thank you for your patience!

World of Warcraft is an ever-growing game.  In order to help save you hard drive space, the World of Warcraft Optimization process will periodically clean up your install folder.  This process will remove unnecessary files while consolidating as much data as possible.  Please avoid closing the World of Warcraft Launcher while the optimization process is in progress.
The process itself requires an additional 2-3 GB of hard drive space, but once it's complete your WoW install folder will typically be much smaller.  The optimization does not involve defragmentation, and is safe for solid state drives.
Should you encounter any issues with a patch that included this optimization, be advised that the issue is likely being caused by a variable that is unrelated to the optimization process itself.  Please see the Patch Troubleshooting page for assistance.

During this your computer might get extremely laggy, since the launcher is changing a lot of data files, and most are of several GBs in size.
If you experience any problems try running it again but with Administrative privileges
